Re: flag research
This is a heated subject right now with people on both sides of the debate.
So our lovely prime minister took it on himself to rather then sort out any social issues or pay off debt, he would rather a new flag
The process as been little controversial to as there was one vote for the flag to run up against current flag and now theres a vote to wither we want that new flag or the current one.
I have trust issues that theres not an alternative motive to.
Also the translation on voting paper to other languages has not been done word for word.
I look forwards to seeing warwicks comments on this subject

The "Lock Opener" our Great Omnipotent Key leader is a Vexillologist! along with some other reptilian hair pulling serpent like traits! One of which i explain below...........
Black-Hole Politricks ------- you won't see whats happening until you pass the events horizon! Then......at warp speed.............. You'll unknowingly have been sucked in by what you didn't see. Placed in such a hapless position of late knowing.........And........regardless of what you do!.....Nothing will be possible. By then......... it's infinitely too late. How can you change what you couldn't...... see touch, taste, smell or hear coming? Your Shucked by the forces of gravitational Deceit, Devoid and depleted. Trapped, Skinned, entombed and permanently outsourced. You're eternally devoid of options. Politically isolated! forced into an unknowable dimension...
POLI-TRICKED! Your A Democratically BLACK-HOLED bunch of IDIWINKED HOODIOTS !

Mark
Our government has spent $27 million on changing the flag. Rather than ask the people a simple question " would you like to change the Nations flag"? They've had a competition and flags where designed by anyone who wanted to submit a design. Then they had a national vote for the people to select from a selection of these flags that where selected by a panel of selected kiwis. There was a row when one of the flags that missed the pick was given a second chance to get selected? We then had to choose a winner by vote. Now the flag has been chosen it's now a vote between this beach towel and the old flag?
We have people in Christchurch still waiting for insurance on their homes destroyed by the earthquake 5 years ago. The 29 dead coal miners are still in the pike river mine unrecovered? The money wasted on the flag BS show. Would be better spent on better things.

Re: flag research
I kind of figured Warwick would give us the "real story"
I would guess that most "regular folks" see TPPA as another scheme to allow ever growing multinational corporations to move even more jobs out of the country where more workers can be paid "living wages" to make even more junk to sell us at ever higher prices and thereby even more money can be made by the few at the top. We have been bleeding jobs at a dizzying rate and these huge trade deals are said to be the root cause. I personally don't think its that simple. We have been indoctrinated by society, twisted interpretations of religion and our ever present media to believe that more! more! more ! is always better! better! better! Most all of us are guilty of it to some degree - its understandable - I like nice stuff too and nice stuff costs ever more money. But we ignore at our peril the carrying capacity of the earth. What can you expect from a country that has decided that multi jillion dollar corporations have the same free speech rights as its individual citizens?
As Pogo The Opossum said - "We have met the enemy and he is us".

While all of the flag flapping was a gust and all eyes where fixed emotively on the tip of the pole . A group of manipulation specialist where busy digging into the foundations that have supported the flag and ALL of its people?
Imagine going to the Wharepaku sleepy eyed for your morning dump! Ho! Humm just sitting there as you've always done ahhhhh! Yeah much better ha ha " that's the best part of me gone ".... You reach for the paper nice n soft and WTF!!! While you where sleeping in an unguarded moment! Someone swapped it for a roll of 80 grit sandpaper! Its a roll of paper And it's made to remove unwanted material. What's the problem.? I'm sure you'll get used to it? Anyway you didn't vote so YOU cant complain?
WHAT'S NEXT? self driving ELECT-TRICK cars probably?

I heard that on the radio today and thought about you guys - congrats!
At least you were voting on a flag and not a president where there are no viable choices. Its embarrassing and its going to get worse.

Re: flag research
Yeah it's either Democratic Capitalism or Capitalistic Democracy? Take your pick? Its like watching a game of football where only one side/team has the ball! The question to debate should have been " do you want to change the flag "? Y or N? And see what everyone said? Not the flatulence that we had! Oh well uncommon sense prevailed.

Re: flag research
Our system of government predates the telephone. I can shift 10k from one account to another over the phone, or purchase a car using my visa on the net, yet l cannot let my thoughts on deep sea oil exploration be registered for less than 27k and it will all be a big waste of time anyway? Smoke screen. We now have the tecno for democracy to be from the ground up, rather than imposed from the top down, some people seem to be worried that we may all figure that out some day.

Re: flag research
Yes Chris. That's why the rush to Digitally colonize the modern worlds population. The distraction of technology creating a self funding user pays Electronic Smokescreen? For example that new electricity meter that was installed at my house. Its plugged into the phone network and watches my power consumption reporting that to a central location. how many fellow countrymen no longer have a great job as a meter reader / dangerous dog detector and police information gather? Driving to every building and writing down the Kilowatt hour's of energy used? Now that all of these jobs have been lost our power supply charges you would think would be cheaper? Especially as the new energy efficient light bulbs draw less current? We should be twice as better off as the power supply company has to supply less power and employs less staff and have reduced the number of vehicles required to run the business? Except that if they selling less power they're going to make less money? But they now getting the same money for making less power. (how old are the transmission lines? How much can they squeeze out of them before they sell a run down system to a foreign outfit? ) Our system is like a pyramid many bricks at the bottom support less and less as you get to the top. Strangely enough the bricks at the bottom are getting less and increasing at the top. Because the time line for developing vs population and wealth increase work like a flooding river the outcome of these things working against themselves in time leads to the current status of the Roman Empire becoming our destiny ? How is it that a stupid Auto electrician can work this out? So don't say that Pink Floyd, Ben Harper, Bob Marley, George Orwell, Noam Chomsky and many other people didn't try to warn us all of our global peril? Buckle up and enjoy your Extinction. .........;D
