Thomas KitchenRe: my annual field days trip done and dusted.always plenty to see and do Warwick.brought stuff from swazi clothing kaiwaka clothing far south clothing adage socks talked to places like mighty mix dog food chunky dog food husqvarna kubota levin saw makers good nature resetting traps one thing that was interesting was a digger attachment for moving concrete pipes not sure if you could lay them with it to, looked promising but those rubber rings are a pain when it comes to laying them. Bryan not sure what you mean by full size pick ups here in nz the hilux was king but its getting knocked off its throne as best seller by the ford ranger. those are isuzu Dmax's in the photo you could buy a foton at the field days brand new drive away for 17k not sure if they throw in a free mask so no one see's you driving one thou i think my if i one lotto car would be one of those ford raptors not sure if they are still making them and they are considered big by nz standards |

Thomas KitchenRe: my annual field days trip done and dusted.sounds like a nice truck Bryan is it a dually?there is a few big american pickup in Auckland but most average kiwi's can't afford to run them. my single biggest hunting expense is gas and i run a very basic mazda ute on lpg (propane) i have thought about upgrading to a newer diesel double cap just for the fuel econamy but my old girl hasn't let me down. i also not a fan of automatics specially in my hunting wagons which seems to be the norm in american pick ups? |

Bryan WebsterRe: my annual field days trip done and dusted. Most dually trucks up here are those who carry a whole lot of weight. Like work trucks with a welder in the box or those frequently pulleing heavy trailers.Mine is a short wheel base, no lift kit but good sized mud tires for the mushy wet clay soils we have on lots of our back roads up here in northern BC. I prefer the diesel when for when pulling a travel trailer and having the quad on the deck and mileage is comparable to that of the new gas engines. Fuel prices have yet to stabilize but presently the difference is not much so am good to go. Both my sons switched out from gasoline to deisel trucks, and the youngest who has a good number of employees who work in the bush for him has all diesel 1 ton trucks as they stand up better especially when in winter the temperature can get down to - 50 C or worse at times. They are not cheap though! |
