Guy MinerThought I'd introduce myself to the members, as I've not previously posted on this forum. I like the gentlemanly tone of the conversation here.Am a young man, in my 60's, and very intent on hunting & shooting. Live in the Pacific Northwest, or Washington State, just a wee bit south of lovely Canada. Mostly I hunt mule deer. Some bear, elk, pronghorn antelope, whitetail deer. Also hunt smaller game such as coyotes and various "varmints." Then upland game birds: pheasant, chukar, huns, grouse... My dog and I dearly love upland game hunting. Oh, my son does too, but I'm not sure he loves it as much as the dog does. Regards, Guy |

Bryan WebsterRe: Howdy!Hello Guy. I live in northeastern BC and hunt a fair bit still.I noted you mentioned your dog for bird hunting, and wondered about the breed. Mine is a 7 year olf Brittany, and she does well for me up here although for some time now our bird population could have been much better. Mostly sharptailed and riffed grouse and given the odd chance we go to southern Alberta for pheasants and hungarian partridge hunts. |

Guy MinerRe: Howdy!Hello, my dog is an 8 year old German Wirehaired Pointer. He's fun to live with around the house, and a very determined hunter afield. That dog has taught me a lot about bird hunting! My son, with our dog on a pheasant hunt last winter, here in Washington: Guy |
