Frank VallichUntil Scott mentioned the free bore topic I remained lazy at maintenance of my firearms. I would occasionally run a bore snake. Blow compressed air into cavities. Remove bolts and rub them down with transmission fluid. If it slid it was golden. I'm now vow to be persistent and service those firearms on a consistent schedule. Well depending on the weather and other distractions BUT will definitely vigorously clean those nooks and crevices.Cheers Eh! |

Scott StruifRe: Shout out to Scott for shooting out topicsThanks, Frank. Ive got a lifetime supply of purple Scotch-Brite pads. Per Nathans recommendation, I give the throat a rub-down every 100 rounds or so. They also come in handy for the cast-iron skillet! |

Frank VallichRe: Shout out to Scott for shooting out topicsPrior to using a product labelled "Wipeout" I would inspect and pick at those hidden crevices with a sharpened wooden probe. Scotch-Brite pads are extremely helpful. Having a reminder to reinspect those areas to ensure technology is working merits a shout out for thanks.Similar to an electronic fuse. High tech and gee what a novel idea. Then smoke begins pouring out of a million dollar device due to the hi tech fuse failing. Replaced by the old standard fuse that works. Witnessed this at a Motorola FAB in Austin. Hahaha. Yeah eh! Go easy on those cast iron pans. I just leave the grease on the surface and scrap off the excess with a spatula prior to reusing the pan and grease. That depends though on the age of the grease and what I'm attempting to flavour with todays fry. Cheers! |
