Jonathan HudonHi Nathan, just a question because I'm curious. I was wondering what was the model of the rifle you were pictured with on the picture behind your book of Bolt action rifle accurizing and maintenance? The picture where you are sit with your dog. I really like it!Thanks! |

Nathan FosterRe: Which rifle is it?Sorry, lost track again. The rifle is a Savage No.4 Mk1. It was not finished as nicely as a Longbranch. My hunting buddy Kelvin took the photo (he has taken many for the books). It was a rainy day that led into a misty evening. We climbed up onto the edge of that plateau and it was one of those moments when it just felt so good to be out in the hills, that rich bush smell, knowing that the rain would bring out pigs, being with a good friend (and Sarge) and getting back to basics with the .303. Yes, the video footage is from the same trip (again, thanks Kelvin). |

Thomas KitchenRe: Which rifle is it?this may be of some interest to you jonathan http://www.ballisticstudies.com/Resources/Discussion+Forums/x_forum/17/thread/7230.htmli got couple lee enfield but slowly working on a savage no4 mk1* theres a difference mk1 and a mk1* main difference being a slot on the bolt track. think savage and longbranch produced the mk1* and the english made the mk1. hardest thing to find here is full wood stocks as a lot were cut down to sporters. that youtube clip is one of my favourite ones. |

Jonathan HudonRe: Which rifle is it?Yes after doing some research I saw the new. Glad for them that they gonna be able to keep their Lee Enfield. It seems like here in Canada, it is a bit harder to find them and the couple ones I found was close to a 1k or even higher. They really look like nice rifles tho and would be glad to have one in my collection. I'm not giving up lol! Btw, you guys have such a beautiful country! One day, for sure I'll have to do a trip there! |
