Nathan FosterWe took Riley to see Star Wars at the flicks yesterday. We loved it. I will admit that I have read some of the sequel books after Return of the Jedi and although the movie was based on its own story line, I thought they did really well. We also enjoyed JJ Abrams reboot of Star Trek. I felt he did justice to both franchises. I also felt this one was not too over the top as far as CGI went. I am not a fan of too much CGI as it is used in movies these days. I just want a good set and good acting. If you get a chance, watch the old movies with the kids, then go watch this one. OK, have to sign off and go window shopping for a Storm Trooper outfit.... |

Joshua MayfieldRe: Star Wars- The Force AwakensHave not seen the new movie yet but JJ Abrams' involvement has got me more curious than I might have been. Noah is 6 and I've been debating whether he'd enjoy the franchise yet or not. I will probably find out.JJ Abrams co-wrote a book a few years ago that may not go down as a classic but is reflective of a uniquely creative mind. It's called S and if you have a chance to pick up a copy at the library you can see how unique a book it is without having to read it. Very interesting approach. |

Nathan FosterRe: Star Wars- The Force AwakensTo be honest, I would have seen it with or without kids. That book does look interesting. I'll keep an eye out for it. |

Mike NeesonRe: Star Wars- The Force AwakensI saw it last week and it was wonderful. Wonderful is not a word I use often. I took my 7 y/o son Liam - he falls asleep in most of the other star wars movies - and he loved it. JJ did a great job and I'm keenly waiting for the next 2 episodes. I'll probably find an excuse to go back and see this flick a few more times. |
